it was a truly enriching session that we had today in the talk of Dr. Biju Mathew. By drawing the examples from US and the problems of migrant labourers especially of the taxi drivers, he connected later these problems of taxi drivers with the broader framework of neo-liberal policies there in US which, in the name of leasing the taxies to the drivers, exploites them at different levels causing the extreme psychological stress among the poor and the marginalised sections of the society.
its my strong conviction too that one needs to look and understand the micro practices of neo-liberalism at various levels to become conscious of the capitalism and its way of operation and subjugating the interest of the masses at broader level.it was truly a thought provoking talk.
